Ellen has been advising students in the Orange County area for eighteen years. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin where she majored in English. Following graduation, Ellen taught school in New York City, Maryland, San Diego and Lexington, Massachusetts where she was a “master teacher” helping new educators to hone their skills. After attending classes at UCLA, Ellen received her college counseling certificate in 1996 and interned at Foothill High School. Having worked with several hundred students, she has helped each of them to find their “home” after high school. Ellen has visited over one hundred and fifty universities and attends meetings both through professional organizations and on various college campuses regularly. She is frequently invited to speak at area high schools and charitable organizations and also mentors new counselors in the area. She was the founder of the CollegeBound program at Girls Inc. in Costa Mesa.
Presently, Ellen resides in Corona del Mar with her husband, Steve, who is a physician. They have three children, Jed who graduated from Emory University, Josh a Columbia University graduate with an MBA from the University of Southern California and Lauren who attended the University of Pennsylvania and has her Masters from NYU.

Dianne has been with Academic Advisors for more than 10 years. She loves helping students and parents through the college process from resume development to admissions application guidance.
She completed her undergraduate degree in biology at George Washington University where she became a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. After graduation, she worked as a medical technologist in Washington, D.C., Pasadena, Virginia Beach, and Bethesda, MD. Besides her varied travels, Dianne has a particular interest in the stock market and various technologically related businesses.
Hailing from Washington, D.C., traveling within the US, and living in Europe for nine months, Dianne has developed a passion for helping students explore all of their college options. These experiences have given her a unique perspective when relating to students. She has a great sense of humor which is much appreciated when she helps them with their resumes and applications.
Dianne lives in Corona del Mar with her husband, David, a physician, and has 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren, including twins. Her children graduated from UC Berkeley, Vanderbilt, and UCLA Anderson School of Business.
Krista attended the University of Southern California where she earned her degree in Journalism/Public Relations with a minor in English. She joined Academic Advisors in 2009 and began working toward her College Counseling credential through UCLA the following year. Krista works primarily with our upperclassmen, focusing on college searches, application essay brainstorming and the editing of essays. She also assists students in populating and submitting applications. Additionally, she attends numerous college conferences and spends time researching and suggesting appropriate extracurricular programs to fit students’ specific needs. She lives in Newport Beach with her three children Emilie, Ashton and Ethan.
